Janesville Acoustics will build a new $13.4 million plant in Warrensburg to supply parts for the Chevrolet Malibu, which is produced at the General Motors Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas City, Kan.

Janesville, a Michigan-based acoustical fiber provider, is expected to create 164 new full-time jobs with the facility, which will receive an incentive package from the Missouri Department of Economic Development.

The plant will start by producing truck liners, specialized carpets, dash liners and  general acoustical insulation designed to make cars quieter. The plant might also try and get work from the Ford plant in Claycomo that produces F-150 pickup trucks and, soon, the new Fort Transit commercial van.
